This past November I made the trip to Antarctica. It was a cool adventure and made many new like minded friends. The boat has been a topic of conversation, as for the Drake Passage crossing. We had a Hurricane second to last day heading home. It was pretty rough. Many were seasick. 38 foot plus seas. What an experience I have to say. Ice Axe Adventures does a good job with this. I was a tourist on this adventure taking my own photos and video. The skiing is all skinning up and some boot packing. Your on a rope while ascending since there are som many crevices, you are on all mostly glacier skiing. Antarctica is considered a desert so I guess you can’t count on powder. We did get lucky and had some new snow and had some nice turns. Here are some pictures to enjoy. Friend and guide for our group on this trip, Dave Rosenbarger recently died in an avalanche on the Italian side of the Mont Blanc. This makes me so sad. All the best to his wife, family and friends. He had such a passion for ski.
