President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced watchdog nominees who, if confirmed by the Senate, could be keeping tabs on the federal government beyond his administration.

Biden plans to nominate Lisa Re to be the Commerce Department’s next inspector general and Kristi Zuleika Lane Scott to serve as inspector general of the National Security Agency, the White House announced. Those positions are not subject to term limits.

Re is currently an assistant inspector general for legal affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General. Scott currently serves as assistant general counsel in the CIA Office of General Counsel.
