Texas’ chief oil and gas regulator has launched multiple digs at the environmental priorities of Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.
Christi Craddick, the chair of the Texas Railroad Commission, said Friday the agency represents the “front-line against D.C. and Kamala Harris’ extreme environmental policies.”
Friday’s salvo came a day after Craddick criticized Harris for shifting course on the issue of fracking. As a Democratic presidential primary candidate in 2019, Harris expressed support for a national ban on the oil and gas production technique, which has been key to unlocking prolific shale formations in Texas, Pennsylvania and other energy-rich states.
Late last month, the Harris campaign said she no longer favors a ban on fracking.
