The director of the Bureau of Land Management’s Utah office is leaving the bureau this fall after four years to lead the Mule Deer Foundation.
Greg Sheehan, who has served as BLM Utah director since August 2020, will step down Oct. 11, the bureau announced Wednesday.
Sheehan’s start date at the Mule Deer Foundation is Oct. 14, according to a spokesperson for the group.
“Greg has been a terrific state director, because he knows Utah so well,” BLM Director Tracy Stone-Manning said in a statement. “We are sad to see him go but pleased that wildlife and conservation across the West will now benefit from his understanding of the work and commitment to building partnerships to achieve shared stewardship goals.”
