Clean energy interests are launching a new campaign aimed at getting industry workers to support both Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid and congressional Democrats in the upcoming elections.
Clean Energy for America Action and the Solar Voters Alliance are teaming up to spend at least $100,000 on the campaign dubbed Vote Clean Energy.
It starts Wednesday with an advertising and social media campaign, and will also include other organizing efforts, the groups said. It will focus on Arizona, Nevada, Michigan, Georgia and other battleground states.
It’s the first big spending push of the 2024 election cycle for the coalition. It focuses on saving the Inflation Reduction Act, which supporters say is poised to spur more than $3 trillion in new clean energy investments and at least 300,000 new jobs. Former President Donald Trump has promised to roll it back if reelected.
